The site is located in sao miguel, Povoacao, Furnas. A town surrounded by invasive species, the expansion of the invasive species continues and continues to affect the spa, despite the fact that there is a conscious effort to protect the natural environment and to demarcate the Special Protection Area(SPA).

Retreat_ Economic forest

In order to balance the contradictory relationship between economy and ecology, the retreating area retains economic elements and introduces productive forest as a complement to the consumption of invasive spcies. For the management of productive forests, planting over a period of time avoids the result that all economic forests are cleared at the same time during the rotation period, resulting in a sudden exposure of the land to invasive species.

Based on retreating, Felled pittosporum can save costs by treating the wood directly at the clearing site, so they will be used for different landscape features at Site 1. Site 1 uses felled invasive species to create spaces that serve people and educate them about the environment in an experiential way through the use of the facilities.

Enhance Biodiversity

Because of its undisturbed nature, the creation of retention ponds to retain water after appropriate artificial interventions on the seasonal stream, using nature's own restorative functions to enhance the ecological role of enhance and restore biodiversity.

During the rainy season, the seeds on the buffer move with the water as the water flows, allowing seeds to spread and germinate. Over time, the recovery of native plants provides shelter and a food source for wildlife.

In dry season, the presence of retention ponds would have been due to Darwinian evolution and the formation of fish. The presence of fish as a link in the biological chain provides support for water and other organisms. The open and empty space around them gives the opportunity to replant local willow and laurel, which retaining water while providing new habitats and breeding space for wildlife, especially azores bullfinch.

There is uncertainty in the use of woodland space by birds, however, what is certain is that the distance between each patch is known. The creation of food sources within the range of the birds supports breeding and nesting.
