The inspiration for my graduate collection began with gardens. There’s this fascinating tension in gardens between the wild and the cultivated, they are a meeting place of the organic with man made structure. I sought to explore these dynamics and so I looked to garden design and landscaping architecture - the geometry in the flowerbeds and layout as well as the garden as a haven for nature. Gardens are a sort of natural metropolis, with sustained ecosystems and function as a place for people to interact with the earth, through embodied practices of gardening, beekeeping and fruit picking.
