Grad Film - Send Kelp

Send Kelp is an Animated short of which narrates a boy’s love for the ocean. The film intends to portray a view of the ocean through a child’s eye, of which I hope offers a sense of nostalgia and reflection to its audience.

The film is animated in 2D using TV Paint and After Effects with Illustrations created in photoshop. 

Although the film is digitally drawn and animated, I have attempted to recreate a traditional hand drawn quality, with my initial pencil sketch lines visible through the film.  I hope that the stylistic combination of hand drawn linework and the sharp, versatile nature of digital work can be used to give my animation a sense of quality but also individuality and warmth.
