Based on a decade-long experience in poetry, my practice has been centred around creating scenes that are subtle in form but emotionally provoking. Working with multiple materials and media has also brought diversity to my creation.
In the past year, I have been discovering the value of daily, discarded and often neglected materials. Using red thread to explore, expand, and reinvent the vicinity has become my signature. The materiality of cheapness gradually leads to the reflection on the action of wasting and industrialisation, and to the sentiments around losing.
These have come to fruition as a poem-film dedicated to my underrepresented hometown and its dialect, which had seen their rise and fall with the tide of industrialisation in China.
Project 'The Quest' is a series of evolving installations, each iteration escalates my 'interference' in my surrounding spaces.
