Fantastic Mr Fox:

For my first graduate project I took the popular children's book Fantastic Mr Fox and reimagined it as a theatre adaptation set in autumn of the 1970's. The relationship between nature and humans is a key theme throughout the novel, therefore I approached the project with sustainable textile techniques. I also used textile techniques used during the 1970's, such as crochet and patchwork. The production should provoke a feeling of nostalgia for the decade and a feeling of cosiness. 

The Crooked House:

My second graduate project was the murder mystery novel The Crooked House by Agathe Christie. For this film adaptation I wanted the setting and costumes to portray the quirky and unusual characters living in the house. For textiles, I took 1930's and 40's wallpaper and fabrics and distorted them to create the fabric for the costumes. The film is a pastel distorted world featuring weird characters to make it visually entertaining.
