Introduction and Manifesto

Interior design is a very interesting discipline that has evolved over time to a very different extent than it has in the past. I see interior spaces as constantly changing and evolving. I want to design interiors that are constantly adapting to human needs. I wanted to design interiors with flexible and versatile soft connections. In this project I wanted to express how the function of the space changes, how the functional areas change to meet the needs of the people in the space. The concept of these changes was designed for flexibility. By redeveloping floors 2-5, I created a new second-hand market for students to use to enhance communication and a new studio on the fourth floor for students to trade and exchange their new designs. These two areas can be converted into separate spaces.

Sketch & Box Research
This diagram shows the evolution of space in a plane and the way in which the box moves.
Pillar Research
This image clearly shows the detail of the columns and how they move, and the rendering gives a more visual sense of the difference between the interior of the space before and after the change.
