When I was an adolescent, I felt anxious, depressed and had low self-esteem because I had acne on my face.
The causes of acne are mainly related to blocked hair follicles, so I combined the appearance of hair follicles with a vase. The growing leaves symbolise the transitional phase of adolescence. The colour transfer presented on the veins of the leaves represents the changing moods of the generation. The patterns on the vase represent different emotions. The flowering of the lotus seeds represents my acceptance of acne.
I hope to encourage young people to turn the negative emotions caused by their cosmetic flaws into optimism and thus accept their imperfect selves.
