My project is located on the Pico Island. And I divided my project into 3 phases. In phase1, I focus on the site2, to design a forest restoration and eco-tourism forest park. It’s my main design. Then, in phase2, I ‘ll focus on site1. It is based on site2. To design a city center square. Use the same design language as Site2, such as Materiality of the Vegetation, to make visitors have resonated and guided them to the forest Park. In phase 3, I’ll design a recommendation system that will connect my two sites and provide visitors with the best route choice.
Considering the forest dynamic, the vegetation in this area is likely to lose biodiversity in the future. Therefore, the design considers forest system reconstruction through manual intervention. When the vegetation canopy of an area affects the vegetation below the canopy, it is intervened by artificial cutting. The native species are then cultivated artificially. The planted species are interconnected with the original species, and they interact to produce the succession of plants. This process will continue to loop in the park. In the process, the forest system will be rebuilt, introducing a rich forest ecosystem, getting rid of invasive species, and providing a transitional habitat for wildlife.
